After dropping Maddy to her class today I attempted to leave the Prep area which is enclosed by a pool fence with a gate. Quinn refused to leave and kept running back to the classroom and peering through the glass longingly. I finally managed to drag Quinn away from the Prep building and up towards the gate.
But alas as soon as we made it out of the gate she clasped onto one of the posts and held on tightly. I tried reasoning with her, bribing her, promised to play with her ALL day, promised a trip to the park, food...everything I could possibly think of to distract her from clinging to the pole and hoping she could go to prep.
Well my negotiating skills failed miserably and eventually I had to walk back down the hill, pry her hand off the fence and drag her 10 mtrs up the hill until she was calm enough to walk on her own.
Boy oh boy is she a handful. Quinn truly thinks that she is old enough to go to Prep. She has no concept of the fact that she is only 21 months and not 5 1/2. Even at Kindy she is starting to cause problems for the teachers because she wants to play with the big kids, not kids her own age.
After eventually getting her into the car we went on a visit to a new scrapbooking shop in Rochedale, called "Somewhere to Scrap". It was really nice with an enclosed playground for the kids. Quinn thought it fantastic until I locked her into the play area. She then realised that I was not staying to play with her and was walking around the shop. Apparantly shopping is much more fun than playing with toys!
I can't wait until she is 16!!!
