A Photo with Santa

I left getting Maddy's photo with Santa this year until the last minute and now regret not having done it sooner. I took her into the Myer Centre today and the line up was over an hour and a half. I stupidly waited for 45 minutes before deciding that I was running out of time and that there was no way I was going to make it through.

So I stopped into David Jones thinking that I would see how long the line up was. Well there were only two other kids in line so I decided to go ahead. In the few minutes wait I started prepping Maddy to sit on Santa's lap. When it came to her turn I walked her up to Santa and she was very shy but she got on Santa's lap with no tears. She was on the verge of crying though when Santa asked her to hold a Christmas bauble.

Then it was just a matter of getting her to smile which she did and we got a wonderful photo which I will one day scan and upload. Santa gave her a sticker, colouring book and a reindeer headband to wear. She was very proud of herself when she saw the photo and daddy was just as pleased.

Maddy has been to see Santa a few times this season and each time has been very upset and would not go near him. At her kindy Christmas party santa came and gave her a present. Afterwards I told her that if she wanted Santa to bring her more presents then she would need to visit Santa, sit on his lap, smile and have her photo taken. Her response "I will be very good and have my photo taken so Santa will bring me lots of presents". When asked what she would like for Christmas she just says presents. I guess I could just wrap up some old shoe boxes!!!

So all my Christmas tasks are done, just have to work tomorrow morning and put the pressies under the tree tomorrow night. Finally I can start to relax...once the washing is done!!!!
