Today was our annual Morgan Conley Christmas Party at Anise. Guy put on a fantastic lunch for us all which lasted over three hours. The food was divine and the company was great. Guy made up some great mocktails for us...yummmmm
Maddy had a strawberry mocktail made up for herself and when dessert was served she ate all the chocolate ice cream from my plate. I was able to try a little of the ice cream and it was really nice. But it soon disappeared and Maddy was desperate for more. When Guy came up to see how our desserts were she said "Guy can I please have some more chocolate?". Well Guy just wanted to clarify that she was referring to chocolate ice cream and in repsonse she said "Yes please". Then to reinforce the point she said "Can I please have another scoop of chocolate". So by the age of three & a half Maddy already knows how to place an order for her food and knows that if she asks nicely she will generally get whatever it is she wants. The only lesson we now need to teach her is that she needs to pay for the meals that she orders. She had the biggest smile on her face whilst eating that bowl of icecream.
Peter was not allowed to sit with anyone other than Maddy. She picked out a seat for him that had Peter being up against the wall on one side and Maddy sitting on the other. SHe was not willing to share him with anyone. I don't think she was too impressed when he went to socialise but made sure that she supervised all his interactions with the other staff.
The boys stole Pete's ties from his office and wrapped them up as secret santa gifts for everyone. Even Pete got one. Maddy went and bought some M & M's for Peter's lolly dispenser so that they can share them when she is in the office. Peter bought her a packet of M & M's too. She was most impressed.
Maddy was really good. We arrived at 2pm and didn't leave until 5.30pm and she behaved perfectly. She had soup for her entree and loved it. You could tell as she had it smeared all over her face and didn't put the spoon down until she was finished.
I think everyone had a great time. It was certainly a fantastic meal and great afternoon to finish off 2008. Merry Christmas.
