Quinn's First Prayer

Tonight at dinner it was decided that QUinn would say the prayer at dinner.

Prior to tonight when it was her turn she would nod her head at each sentence to let you know that she agreed with what you were saying.  Well tonight she tried to actually say all or most of the words.

She was happy for mum to help her but not impressed when her big sister Maddy attempted to help.  No DO NOT HELP ME I CAN DO IT ON MY OWN!  Little Miss Stubborn!!

She got to the end and said "Jesus, Men".  I was really impressed, Quinn even more so.  So proud of her efforts to say the prayer for dinner.  Now we will have to include her in saying the prayers each day.

Each night before I put her to bed we say a little prayer together.  I lie her down in her cot and she folds her arms while still holding onto her dummy, bottle and a toy, and smiles at me while I close my eyes to say a prayer.  It usually consists of thanking Heavenly Father for sending Quinnie to our family, for being such a beautiful ahppy little girl, that she will sleep well and that we will have lots of fun tomorrow.  Once the prayer is finished she flings her arms open and says "Men".

This is followed by a kiss, love you & good night before the lights go out.  She waits for this routine every night and I thoroughly enjoy taking the time to do this with her.

I missed out on this part of Maddy's life being in hospital for so long that I am truly taking the time to play with her and spend quality time with her during the day and at night.  I am trying to make the most of every minute with her because she is very headstrong and independant that she won't be wanting me around for much longer!!  Unlike Maddy who loves me playing with her.

Dear oh dear these two girls are very different!!  But oh how I love them oh so much:)
