Playgroup on Wednesday
I was not planning on attending as I thought no one was going. But Melissa Smith called to say her and Adele were going and I quickly agreed to come. Joel's mum was coming to visit so could look after Joel and Maddy would be out for half the day and not annoying Joel.
So we went to Yeronga pool. I love it there. The kids pool have lots of mushrooms with water falling over the tops of them, water fountains right around the side of the pool and it is not too deep. Maddy has always loved swimming there she was too excited she didn't want to wait to sit down before jumping in and playing.
Her friend Madson has in recent weeks been a bit hesitant in the water but today was a complete turn around. He was running and jumping into the water doing almost everything Maddy was doing. Adele was also playing and having the time of her life.
Maddy was showing me how she "dives" in the water (now this is not from the edge of the pool but is more like watching a dolphin swimming through the water). She is very confident in the water and loves swimming. She would swim all day every day if we let her. She didn't want to leave and kept saying that she would just do one more dive before we got out.
When it came to morning tea time we bought all the kids an ice block. Maddy at the first part of it then decided that there was not enough time to eat and she had to get back in the water. She is like a little fish. Constantly on the go. I hopped in the 50 mtr pool with her and she continually jumped in from the side practising her rocket (arms out in front, no paddling just kicking) and swimming from one side of the pool to the nearest lane ropes and back. Eventually with a bit of coaxing I got Madson in on a kick board and did motorboats with him. It was only for a short time but he is growing in confidence which is good.
So everyone loved the day and we are planning on heading back regularly as the kids had soo much fun and really enjoyed being in the water.
