Well here we are again at the snow and having the time of our lives.
We made it safely to VIC arriving at 5pm on Saturday afternoon. Maddy was entertained with her DVD's and wasn't too much trouble.
Sunday was a quiet day at the park for a BBQ lunch, golf for the boys and time out for mum. Tradition prevailed and I have made all the desserts so far and everyone is very happy. You can always tell as everyone rushes to get the leftovers for breakfast. Yum!!!
Monday we headed up the mountian for our first day of skiing. We put Maddy on her ski's and had her going down Tom Thumb - we strapped a rope around her waist so we could stop her before she fell off ther mountain. She loved it though her attention span this year is far shorter and she would much prefer to be making a snowman in the snow than skiing. She has, of course, enjoyed throwing snow at her daddy - much to his disgust.
I was able to fit in a few hours of skiing before heading for lunch. the powder is fantastic this year and is great to ski in. the days have been sunny and clear and warm. You could not ask for anything better. The perfect weather has appeared just for us. And this year the slopes are almost abondoned. THere is virtually no one here. We don't have to wait in line for lifts like we normally would which means we get much more skiing time in.
Maddy is sleeping really well and having the time of her life playing with her cousins, Lydia, Corban and Tia. Corban & Madison are 12 months apart, Corban being the eldest. When being measured up for skis we discovered that Maddy weighs 16kg, Corban 15kg; Maddy shoe size 9, Corban size 8; however Madison in height was 102cm whereas Corban was 104cm. Amazing really though Corban is totally Pitman which is probably why the two get on so well. They wrestle and argue and think exactly the same way. It is great to see them playing together.
